Let us help you build a stronger future

We know your buying decisions have the power to really drive how effective and efficient your building assets are. That is why we are developing new and innovative solutions so our construction services meet the needs of the whole of the public sector to design, manage, onsite construct, offsite manufacturer, repair, demolish and decommission as needed across the UK.

We offer the biggest construction frameworks in the country, driving industry change in support of the government’s construction strategy. Our frameworks include flexible procurement and contract options and we have a team packed full of industry experience from multiple sectors and all tiers of the supply chain to support customers and suppliers. Our construction commercial agreements provide value for money solutions with the lowest levy to suppliers and income, invested back into the public sector to support government for future iterations.

Helping the public sector to build back better

Alliance Membership - Working together to make a difference

We have the only collaborative construction frameworks using an alliance approach, called the framework alliance contract (FAC-1). It allows you to select different suppliers to work collaboratively, with shared success factors, to drive efficiencies at project and programme level. We aim to encourage more collaborative working and partnering to safely deliver innovation to our customers, on time and to budget.

Aligning with the policies that matter to you

We also help you to deliver against government policies. This includes working with SMEs, driving standardisation, fair payment, apprenticeships, modern slavery, social value, modern methods of construction, Building Information Modelling (BIM), digital, and compliance with environmental, security and health and safety standards.

The Construction Playbook

The Construction Playbook aims to encourage collaboration and better strategic relationships between the public and private sectors and to drive improvement and innovation within the construction industry.

Having been an integral part of the task force in its development, CCS continues to be part of the steering group supporting and overseeing the Playbook’s implementation.

We have been able to put a lot of the Playbook’s policy areas into practice during our support to customers in response to COVID-19 and our current construction agreements include all of these policy areas, putting us in a great position to support you at any stage of your project or programme, and giving you the assurance that you are contributing to a more robust and sustainable industry which can build back better.

Tackling the sustainability agenda

In these days of climate concern, the UK government is spearheading the move towards zero emissions. Eco-friendly and sustainable construction solutions are crucial if the UK is to meet the net zero emission targets set for 2050, now enshrined in UK Law.

While current use of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) is still relatively low, there is an increasing acceptance of the importance of eco-friendly solutions and the need to embrace MMC. It’s incumbent on constructors and their customers to consider the environment in their projects.

Designing for efficient use of assets is key and we can support you with appropriate material selection, expert advice from within our supply chain and help you benefit from early decision making to achieve the outcomes you need.

“Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust selected Crown Commercial Service Construction Works and Associated Services (CWAS) framework to provide a rapid procurement route for a number of our major capital projects this year. We chose CCS as our delivery partner as their framework solution offered a greater choice of supplier options. The CWAS framework solution also offered us more flexibility in the design, management and assessment in our procurement process, as well as the contract form and it provided us with greater confidence in the continuity of service we required.”
